R&D Energy Storage Engineer (80 - 100%)
In this position, as Energy Storage Engineer, you will report to R&D Hardware Chapter Lead, based in Quartino Switzerland. You will utilize your extensive skills and technical expertise to select and qualify potential Energy Storage Systems and their manufacturers, ensure Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS) compatibility with those. You will further support us on new emerging applications around multifunction UPS for ancillary services such as frequency response and peak shaving.
- Lead technical qualification of Energy Storage Systems (e.g. battery cells, battery racks, Battery Management Systems, etc.)
- Support supplier qualification
- Support certification of batteries and systems for the American and IEC standards
- Support on new emerging applications and technical knowhow on batteries
- Identify and communicate energy storage requirements
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, as well as more than 3 years of relevant Engineering experience
- Must have experience working with electrical systems or demonstrate the aptitude to learn complex power electronic systems
- Must have an experience with energy storage systems and batteries
- Self-driven and responsible, well structure work practices
- Can break down complex topics into simple explanation
- Collaborative team player
- Knowledge and experience with Agile methodology is a plus
- Fluent in English, spoken and written
