Position: Procurement Junior- Electronics & Engineering Products
Location: Canton Zurich
Salary Guide: 110,000- 120,000 CHF + Bonus, Healthcare, Company Benefits
Introduction:
This is an opportune time to join a growing, niche purchasing team. Due to yet another internal promotion in the department, a rare opportunity has arisen to work with experienced Electronic component and / engineering products purchasers in a dynamic, German speaking environment. It is a great chance to develop your category management skills in the above categories with a view to a strategic procurement position in the future.
This position would suit a candidate with 2-3 years’ experience of purchasing the above Categories in a German speaking environment
As the parent company see further signs of growth and demand for their products, our International client need your experience of electrical engineering product purchases to join them.
For this role it is a requirement to speak fluent German in order to liaise with the electrical engineers and designers. You also need a relevant electronics purchasing background to be considered for this specialised, hands-on purchasing position
Responsibilities:
- Purchasing of electronic and electromagnetic products from clients World Wide
- Understand the needs of key members in the Engineering, Supply Chain departments
- Work with the Global Category Manager on product needs for procurement
- Discuss the strategic changes occurring in areas such as product developments & costs
- Procure relevant electronic and engineering products needed by the development team
- Maintain material groups
- Act as a key contact between internal contact needs and the suppliers
- Have total cost of ownership for group purchasing needs
Candidate Profile:
- A graduate, ideally from an Engineering or electronics subject. Ideally and Electrical Engineer
- Preferably with a Purchasing qualification to support your skills
- Proven experience as a procurement expert in electronic products
- You will be familiar and understand terms such as Design for Manufacturability, Value Engineering and Cost Engineering- DFM, VE, CE
- You are a successful contract negotiator and can discuss electrical products with knowledge and experience
- Supplier and contract negotiation skills
- Fluent German speaker
