Operations Management Analyst Intern
The primary purpose of this 12 months internship position is to provide comprehensive support to the Downstream Operations management team, including the Operational Excellence and Asset Integrity Manager, the Operational Excellence Officer, and the Deputy Operations Manager. This role involves assisting in the implementation of operational excellence and AIM initiatives, supporting project planning and execution, conducting data analysis, and facilitating communication and collaboration across departments. By contributing to process improvements, monitoring performance metrics, and supporting training programs, the Operations Management Analyst ensures that the Downstream Operations team operates effectively and achieves its strategic goals.
Main responsibilities:
Operational Support:
Assist the Operational Excellence and Asset Integrity Manager in implementing and monitoring operational excellence initiatives.
Provide analytical and administrative support to the Operational Excellence Officer.
Work closely with the Deputy Operations Manager on project planning, execution, and CAPEX management.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Collect, analyze, and report on operational performance metrics.
Prepare regular reports and presentations for the operations management team.
Conduct data analysis to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
Project Coordination:
Support the Deputy Operations Manager in coordinating and managing projects.
Track project progress, manage schedules, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
Assist in budget preparation and cost monitoring for projects.
Communication and Liaison:
Serve as a point of contact between different departments within Downstream Operations.
Facilitate communication and collaboration within department.
Liaise with other departments to ensure alignment and integration of operations.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Develop and implement improvement plans in collaboration with the Operations management team.
Monitor the effectiveness of implemented changes and make necessary adjustments.
Training and Development:
Assist in organizing training programs for operational staff.
Support the development and dissemination of best practices and standard operating procedures.

Experience & education required:
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality in work deliverables.
- Exposure to or understanding of the oil and gas industry, particularly in downstream operations, is preferred but not required.
- Interest for the African continent.
