Postdoctoral Fellow Holistic energy systems modelling of nuclear energy technologies
- Development and application of the Swiss TIMES Energy systems Model by advancing its representation of conventional and nuclear energy technologies
- Performing cutting-edge research related to the future developments of nuclear energy in the Swiss energy system, including conventional power generation and novel technologies and configurations (e.g. SMR, hydrogen)
- Scientific supervision of Master students and possibly PhD students
- Contribution to the acquisition of research projects
- Lead model development tasks and coordination of research with project partners
- Dissemination and communication of research results to diverse audiences, including in both academic and non-academic literature and communities
- PhD degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, energy/environmental science, economics or computer engineering
- Experience and expert knowledge in integrated energy economic modelling, optimisation tools (esp. TIMES)
- Proficient use of programming languages such as GAMS, Python, MATLAB etc.
- Solid knowledge about techno-economic characteristics of existing and novel energy technologies and systems
- Excellent writing, organisation and communication skills
- Good publication track record
- Excellent English language skills are essential. Knowledge of German language is an additional benefit
