Job reference: WD-0025007 What's the role? We are looking for a talented developer who will be responsible for Yocto Linux configurations and kernel customizations used in our embedded systems. Your daily job is it to deliver solutions for high-quality optical measurement devices used in the construction industry. You will be involved in the full development life cycle – from prototype to the final product. Who is Hilti? What does the role involve? In this role, you will be responsible for adapting and configuring the Yocto Linux system used in measurement and layout devices. You adapt our Yocto layer, incl. the device tree and kernel, to our self-developed hardware. You will work together with our electronics engineers to bring the hardware into operation and test the individual components. You ensure that Linux is built and tested automatically in our continuous integration system. You will develop Linux kernel drivers for our image-processing IP cores in the FPGA.You will have the opportunity to support other areas of embedded software development, i.e., working on the application or real-time components. In an agile team, you will work closely with other software developers and development disciplines such as electronics and systems engineering. You will contribute to our products, from the technology phase to the final product, and get the opportunity to learn what it takes to develop a high-quality optoelectronic device. - A Masters’ degree in computer sciences, electronics engineering or similar
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages
- Deep understanding of embedded Linux – ideally Yocto / Xilinx PetaLinux
- A proven track record in developing high quality code for industrialized embedded systems
- Experienced in setting up continuous integration system to build Linux
- Strong interpersonal skills to successfully perform in a global matrix environment and pro-active mindset
- Fluency in spoken and written English
