SUMMARY OF THE JOB
The Head of Supply Chain is in charge of implementing supply-chain solutions for Group and non-Group customers and suppliers, with tangible returns. This position involves strategic planning, effective management of logistics, inventory, and distribution, with a focus on enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring the seamless flow of goods and services. Knowledge and experience in dealing with the entire product range, technical knowledge of all transportation modals, supplemented by a strong commercial and financial acumen to develop associated business cases, is key to delivering results in this role.
MAIN ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement supply chain strategies in alignment with strategic objectives.
Monitor and analyze supply chain metrics, such as inventory levels, cost, delivery times, and quality, define the KPIs and tracking methodologies to continuously identify areas of improvement.
Design and implement adequate processes and procedures to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce cost and increase speed and quality of delivered services.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in accordance with the Holcim guidelines and policies and state of the art practices in the supply chain.
Lead the selection and management of suppliers, vendors, and third-party logistics providers.
Lead the contract negotiations and agreements with suppliers and vendors such as: Logistics and Transportation Providers, 3PL, Technology and IT suppliers, Storage companies, Shipping lines, Forwarding companies, Custom brokers, etc.
Collaborate with various internal stakeholders identifying business opportunities (incl. risks & return), providing accurate business case studies for new and existing growth opportunities, ensure their approval and execution
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain through the implementation of best practices and innovative technologies.
Provide business intelligence and competitive benchmarking.
YOUR PROFILE
- Higher education degree in Business/Logistics/Engineering is a must
Minimum 10 years of experience in Logistics(esspecially shipping) / Supply Chain / Maintenance / Engineering position in cement/cementitious and/or in chemical industry
Commercial experience and ability to negotiate with customers/suppliers and influence internal stakeholders
Evidence of strong business and strategic acumen
Excellent communication and collaboration skills and ability to effectively engage in multicultural environments
Appetite and curiosity for geo-political topics, technological and supply chain innovation, sustainability, digital
Global mindset, entrepreneurship mindset, business insight, resilient & assertive
Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments
Analytical, result oriented and strategic thinking

Excellent English, written and spoken
