AO Global Networks comprises our clinical specialties of trauma, spine, craniomaxillofacial, veterinary and reconstructive surgery, facilitating the effective sharing of functional best practice and expertise across our clinical areas. We develop world-leading experts through our best-in-class educational events and state-of-the-art research, enabling us to respond to changing clinical needs and improve patient outcomes.

We are looking for a highly motivated personality for the position of:

Transition Manager Education Events & Relations (100%) – temporary position for one year

Based in Zizers you will be part of the new Global Networks Education Events & Relations leadership team.

  • In this role you will be required to monitor and continuously improve the new operating model in event organization:
    • Supervise the local implementation of the new operating model and support event owners in establishing country specific implementation plans
    • Closely collaborate with all partners in the AO event management organization and with our industrial partner to optimize processes, collaboration tools, and the information flow within the event delivery teams
    • Help improve the event management system Fonteva to achieve efficiency gains
  • Support annual event planning:
    • Collaborate with the Manager of the AO Global Education Process, regional managers, and education managers of the clinical specialties to provide guidance for the annual planning of events by the respective surgeon bodies.
    • Help to create data for regional managers to inform/as a basis for the decision making of the Regional Boards in the annual planning of events
  • Quality assurance:
    • Assess the quality of the support of chairpersons and faculty in event organization
    • Identify room for improvement and discuss with event delivery teams
  • Relationship Management:
    • Develop and monitor suitable key performance indicators for quality assessment of the support of AO country councils
    • Monitor the implementation of the new event delivery and governance support model in the former AO chapter countries
    • Establish a progress report and collaborate with the responsible regional managers to identify measures for improvement as needed

To master this challenge, you should have

  • University or similar degree
  • At least 9 years of relevant experience in the medical or scientific field and/or experience with medical education
  • Strong leadership, project management and communication skills
  • A proactive and service- and consensus-oriented personality
  • The ability to manage strong personalities
  • A convincing personality who can negotiate and deal on all levels
  • A high stress resistance and resilience
  • The willingness to travel (up to 30-40%)
  • Fluency in English and German is a must. Mastering another language is considered a plus
