Drug Discovery - Senior Medicinal Chemist / Senior Manager
In Neurosterix we aspire to be the world leader in allosteric modulators to address CNS diseases and we are looking for a Senior Medicinal Chemist / Senior Manager to help us achieve it.
Job description
In this senior role, you’ll lead scientific programs and initiatives in the allosteric modulation field of research with direct management responsibilities. You will work closely with the Head of Medicinal Chemistry to continuously look for ways to improve the effectiveness of project delivery.
- Independently design, plan, execute, and interpret complex activities to identify pharmaceutical candidates.
- Formulate innovative molecular design ideas through property- and structure-based drug design that impact the advancement of drug discovery programs.
- Collaborate proficiently with internal and external chemists to overcome synthetic challenges and expedite the invention of novel molecules.
- Productively interact with cross-functional scientists and communicate progress against goals in a multi-disciplinary setting: chemistry, biology, pharmacology, molecular modeling.
- Initiate and participate to collaboration with external partners.
Requirements
- You are a highly motivated and independent scientist with a proven track record in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
- You have a PhD in organic / medicinal chemistry, post-doctoral experience with at least 10 years’ experience in industry with demonstrated success in solving medicinal chemistry problems and in the process to deliver clinical candidates.
- Proven experience in external collaboration and management of CROs.
- Cross functional scientific knowledge (Biology, ADME/PK, safety).
Experience in the CNS field would be a plus. Neurosterix is seeking individuals having an excellent understanding of modern methodologies both in synthetic chemistry and in drug design with excellent communication skills, who are creative, enthusiastic and able to work effectively in an international discovery team environment. Swiss or eligible for Swiss work permit.
