To support our Swiss Accounting team responsible for the financial and accounting operations for Swiss entities, we are looking for our offices in Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland for a:

Senior Accountant

Purpose

To produce monthly financial and accounting reports, maintain an adequate system of accounting records, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with Swiss GAAP.

Role & Responsibilities

Accounting Transactions

  • Keep the ledgers in full compliance with Swiss GAAP with monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Book invoices from the suppliers in a timely manner and ensuring that accounts payable are reconciled regularly with suppliers statements on demand.
  • Ensure that accounts receivables are booked and collected promptly.
  • Manage intercompany transactions and cost reinvoicing between entities.
  • Be the point of contact for foreign subsidiaries to assist and provide support in accounting and tax matters.
  • Ensure that monthly balance sheet reconciliations are completed (banks included).
  • Maintain the chart of accounts and an orderly accounting filing system.
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions following Group procedures in place.
  • Ensure that inventories are correctly registered. Participate to the yearly stock take.
  • Support Accounting Manager and other Finance colleagues on an ad-hoc basis.

Reporting

  • Issue timely and complete monthly financial statements.
  • Support Accounting Manager in preparing annual Statutory Financial Statements (notes and supporting documents).
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analyses as needed.
  • Address all financial queries and analysis required by management.
  • Drive the IT project improvements.

Compliance, Tax, Treasury & Law

  • Manage all Tax aspects (prepare monthly VAT returns).
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the different audits.
  • Ensure that Group policies and procedures are complied with.
  • Review the Internal Control Systems and recommend improvements.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
  • 5 years of progressive experience in accounting of a small/medium size company
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees (different finance knowledge or other stakeholders)
  • Strong Analytical skills, detail oriented and organised
  • Very good knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of MS Business Dynamics – an asset

Languages

  • English fluent spoken and writing
  • French (minimum B2) or other European language an asset
