TOFWERK is seeking a software engineer to strengthen our team developing software for our time-of-flight mass spectrometers. The successful applicant will combine programming and scientific experience with their communication skills to meet the tailored requirements for a diverse set of stakeholders and customers. They will work in tandem with R&D teams, other software team members, and members of the product teams to integrate the user interface applications with the underlying TOFWERK libraries and services driving the instrument control functionality. They will directly liaise with the R&D and instrument teams in rapid development of software during prototyping and feedback cycles, and to ensure that the stakeholders requirements are comprehensively documented. Based on their knowledge of the field and use of TOFWERK technology, they will provide suggestions and feedback regarding potential short- and long-term product improvements and developments.
- 3+ years experience in software development using C#
- Master’s level education in the sciences
- Relevant certification or proven track record in front-end software engineering
- Interest in collaborating with non-software R&D staff and product teams
- Independent, well-structured, and goal-oriented working style
- Fluency in English
- Experience using Agile development principles, particularly Kanban
- Experience working as part of an international team across multiple time zones
- Basic proficiency in German
- Knowledge of Python and/or C++
- Exciting projects in state-of-the-art mass spectrometry
