Data Scientist/Specialist in the field of informetrics at ETH Library

The Knowledge Management Group, hosted by the section Research Support Service, is hiring a Data Scientist/Specialist in the field of informetrics.
In this role, you will support researchers, departments, controlling, and the Executive Board of the ETH Zurich. Among other things, the main responsibilities include consultations about scientometric issues, analysing bibliometric data, and the testing, adaptation, and introduction of information management tools. You will contribute to developing conceptions for various services for the ETH staff and the library, participate in the planning of new workflows, and implement these conceptions and workflows in collaboration with your colleagues. In addition, you will process requests from the ETH staff for bibliometric and altimetric services.
For this purpose, you will be closely collaborating with other groups, including the group Digital Business Solutions. You will also be representing the Knowledge Management Group in inter-group and inter-team projects, as necessary. Beyond your core responsibilities, you will actively contribute to the development and practical implementation of innovative approaches.
- You hold a Master's degree, preferably in the area of information science/library science, computer science, data science, or social science
- You bring in experience in statistical analysis as well as the use of appropriate software packages for data analysis (such as R, Python or Stata)
- You have experience working with (relational) databases and knowledge about the conceptualisation of databases
- You have experience in analysing bibliometric data
- You demonstrate proficiency in English and German (written and spoken)
