Red Ridge Bio is looking for a (Senior) Scientist, Cancer Biology.
Red Ridge Bio is a recently established biotechnology company within the Ridgeline Discovery incubator located in Basel (Switzerland). Based on fundamental research conducted over the last two decades, Red Ridge Bio is pursuing an innovative approach to identify and develop novel and transforming therapies for the treatment of cancer and autoimmunity diseases.
In this role, you will make use of your experience in Cancer Cell Biology to contribute to the advancement of innovative biotherapeutics by designing and conducting laboratory experiments, developing methodology, and generating and interpreting scientific data in a highly collaborative environment. As a key member of our team, you will also be responsible for leading some early research programs and communicating results to appropriate stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct biochemical and cellular assay development aimed at exploring cancer cell biology mechanisms, testing hypotheses, and support compound screening and other relevant cancer drug discovery efforts
- Conduct hands-on cancer cell culturing, viability assessments, phenotypic assessments, and other in vitro experiments
- Engineering of adequate cancer cell models
- Independent experimental planning and design, independent data analysis and interpretation
- Utilize cancer genomic platforms for data exploration and analysis as needed including cBioportal, DepMAP
- Assess and report data, with minimal guidance, in a clear and concise manner, with a clear understanding of its implications
- Keep up with the scientific literature pertinent to the projects and in general with literature relevant to scientific developments in cancer
- Work collaboratively with CROs, as well as cross-functional team members to ensure the efficient relay of information and forward translation of data
QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biology, Medicine, or other relevant disciplines
- 3+ years’ cancer biology work experience in the academic, pharmaceutical, or biotech setting
- 2+ years’ experience in biologics drug discovery in a pharmaceutical of biotech setting
- Familiar with common assay platforms
- Solid experience in cell culture and basic molecular biology
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute experiments, analyse and interpret results
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated with desire and ability to learn
- Comfortable to multi-task, and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Direct experience in leading early research programs is a plus
