Intern - Strategy and Transactions - VME
How organizations manage their capital today will define their competitive position tomorrow. The Strategy and Transactions (SaT) service line helps create social and economic value for our clients by helping them make more informed decisions about strategically managing capital and transactions, including raising, investing, optimizing and preserving capital.
In order to reinforce our growing Strategy and Transactions team in Geneva, we are currently looking foran Intern (6 months). As part of your daily work, you will support our SaT team across all sub-service lines, with a particular focus on Valuation, Modeling and Economics.
Our Valuation, Modeling and Economics (VME) sub-service line comprises the full suite of valuation-related services delivering integrated solutions to clients, including Business Valuation, Capital Equipment, Complex Securities, Corporate Finance, Corporate Real Estate and Real Estate Valuation services.

- Perform industry and comparable company researches, analyze business models and cost of capitals with the aim of better understanding a target company.
- Carry out company and business asset valuations using various method and according to international standards.
- Prepare detailed reports outlining the valuation and assumptions thereof.
- Create complex financial models and prepare data analysis and data visualization of large databases to support the strategic and operative decision-making process of our clients.
- Evaluate intangible assets in the context of the purchase price allocation (PPA) in accordance with IFRS 3. Moreover, you will prepare and review impairment tests in accordance with IAS 36 and option valuations in accordance with IFRS 2.
- Support the Audit Team in the context of impairment test projects and cost of capital computations.
- Work in multidisciplinary teams involving various service lines and for different industries.
- Be involved in other transaction areas for a sound and steep learning curve.
What you can contribute – skills for shaping the future
- A Master’s degree about to be finalized, in finance, accounting or related field (for example at EPFL or HEC).
- A strong interest for transactions, ideally demonstrated through previous work experience (internship) in the Transaction/Corporate Finance department of a bank, a Private Equity fund, a consulting firm, or a Big4.
- Perfect fluency in French and English (both oral and written), German or Italian being a plus.
- Advanced Excel and Analytics IT competences related to data processing and data visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI, Alteryx).
- Strong analytic and interpersonal skills.
