Co-Lead Experimental Pathology facility
This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge cancer research and methods, working
closely with a multidisciplinary and international team of researchers dedicated to understanding the role of immune
response, cancer genetics, and microbiota in cancer progression and response to therapy.
The suitable candidate will be involved in the setup of Multiplex Imaging techniques (MACSimaTM technology) at the
IOR experimental pathology facility (link: experimental-pathology) aimed at revealing the location and interaction of
immune-cell subpopulations within the tumor microenvironment of patient tissue samples and preclinical animal
models.
We seek ahighly motivated applicant with an MD or Ph.D. and a strong pathology expertise, cancer research,
and/or immunology background.
Familiar with Immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, histopathology, biomarker
development, and pathology.
Strong motivation to support and train users with a problem-solving mindset.
Excellent skills in project management, communication, and networking.
End-to-end management of Spatial Tissue Omics Platforms (including MACSima system and MACS iQ View
Analysis Software) will be considered a plus, as well as knowledge and experience with Spatial transcriptomics.
The IOR ,affiliated with the Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI), is in a new high-tech research building that hosts
more than 20 research groups. It has state-of-the-art labs and facilities, which include a fully new microbiology lab
equipped with anaerobic hoods and an incubator and an innovative microfluidic system for bacteria (Prospector ®
