Postdoctoral Fellowship in Political Science
The Department of Political Science at the University of Basel, Switzerland, is searching for a postdoctoral fellow with a strong training in qualitative methods and research interests in the field of international politics.
Your position
The position is structurally anchored in the Department of Political Science and shared with the Institute for European Global Studies. You will pursue your own research project and you will teach a course of two hours per week (during the semester) which will be part of both the Master in Political Science and the Master in European Global Studies. In addition, you will mentor a limited number of BA and MA students and supervise examinations. This position is for an initial period of two years, renewable for another four years after positive evaluation. The appointment is scheduled to begin on August 1, 2024. The place of work is Basel, Switzerland.
Your profile
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in political science or related fields. Your experience should demonstrate methodological rigor in qualitative research and a thematic interest in at least one of the following fields: international relations, regional integration, peace and conflict research, global policies and governance. Fluency in written and spoken English is required. German language proficiency is an asset.
