Software Engineering Practice Lead (f/m/d), 100%

Are you an experienced software developer with a passion for maintaining high coding standards and driving best practices? Alpiq is seeking a dynamic leader to join their team and shape the future of their software development processes.
As the Software Engineering Practices Lead, you will be at the forefront of ensuring high-quality software development. You will implement and maintain coding standards, guide the adoption of methodologies, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Your main responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain guidance coding standards, software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, DevOps), and best practices to ensure high-quality software development and consistency across projects.
  • Conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with established standards and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Organize and lead training sessions, workshops, and seminars for software developers on the latest development methodologies, technologies, and best practices.
  • Act as a technical expert, providing guidance and support.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to align development practices with strategic objectives.
  • Create and manage a centralized repository of software development resources, including documentation, coding guidelines, and toolsets, accessible to all development staff.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of implemented practices and report on their impact.
  • Normalize the evaluation and integration of new technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance development processes and product innovation.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and innovation and provides leadership to Alpiq software developers via matrix reporting structure

Your profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Over 5 years of experience in software development with a comprehensive understanding of coding standards, development methodologies, and best practices.
  • AWS Certification (Solution Architect, DevOps) or proven equivalent knowledge is a must.
  • Certifications in Scrum, Agile, or similar methodologies are highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean IT is an asset.
  • Proven ability to enforce software development standards and practices.
  • Expertise in multiple programming languages, development frameworks, and tools.
  • Proven track record in facilitating the adoption of new technologies and practices within a development team.
  • Experience with software quality assurance and CI/CD processes.
  • Collaborative and able to influence change across teams.
  • Fluent in English.
