An opportunity has arisen for a 1-2 year post-qualification experienced funds lawyer interested in working in an international and fast changing environment. The role will support senior funds lawyers in day to day funds related legal work, but also a broader spectrum of asset management legal work.
You will be part of an international legal department at a Zurich headquartered multi boutique asset manager with investment boutiques in New York, London and Zurich and offices across the USA, Europe and Asia that has grown rapidly and is continuing to expand internationally.
In this role, you will work closely with senior lawyers, particularly in Zurich and Luxembourg, who will seek to develop your expertise so that you can quickly assume more responsibility but remain supported in a team structure.
The position can be located either in Zurich or Luxembourg depending on experience.
Reviewing, drafting and amending a broad range of product legal documentation, including but not limited to fund prospectuses, shareholder letters, board resolutions, country specific wrappers as required and ancillary fund documentation (eg financial statements) for Luxembourg and Swiss funds
Reviewing, drafting and amending a broad range of contractual documentation, including but not limited to investment management agreements, distribution agreements, share class agreements, non-disclosure agreements and other vendor and service provider contracts
Supporting fund registration and distribution related matters
Supporting corporate legal matters, including but not limited to, preparation of board and management meetings, drafting minutes, interacting with auditors
Interacting with external counterparts, service providers and local regulators
Pro-active awareness and monitoring of the asset management legal and regulatory environment, analyzing business impact and potentially working on the implementation
Fully qualified lawyer in the EU, Switzerland or UK
1-2 years experience either in-house or in private practice, preferably in funds or asset management, but experience in financial services generally will also be considered
Fluency in English both written, verbal and at a technical legal level is essential
Strong German language skills both written, verbal and at a technical legal level is also preferred, however non-German speakers will still be considered
Strong drafting skills, communication skills and attention to detail is essential
Must be a team player who operates collaboratively, with a business and solutions oriented mindset
Intelligence, a willingness to learn, interest in the legal and regulatory environment affecting the financial sector and asset management in particular and to take on new challenges in a rapidly growing and expanding international environment are essential
