Legal Counsel, Claims - 6-month contract

Our client is looking for a Legal Counsel to join their Claims department for a temporary 6-month contract as soon as possible, with a strong likelihood of permanent employment.

A multinational company based in Geneva.

Description

• Identify the origin of the loss and inform concerned parties.
• Handle and investigate incidents and claims regarding the cargoes.
• Negotiate claim settlements with customers and different third parties.
• Provide legal assistance (with support from lawyers) when necessary.
• Manage incidents with a view of mitigate losses and save costs.
• Assist the manager with various tasks.
• Coordinate with insurers, experts, lawyers and with other internal departments (logistics, operations, commercial etc.).

Profile

• Degree in law.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in claim's management.
• Knowledge of maritime law or shipping or transportation business world.
• Self-motivation.
• Used to work in a stressful or demanding environment.
• Ability to work in a Team and autonomously.
• Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English.
